About the home
A long established purpose built Residential Home, The Oaks provides the necessary care and attention for those who wish to spend their retirement in a safe and caring atmosphere, whilst respecting their privacy, dignity and choices. The home has a philosophy of quality care at affordable prices and prides itself on its longstanding and experienced local staff who are trained to provide quality care with courtesy, dignity and compassion.
Our location
The Oaks lies on a quiet residential street in Ainger’s Green, Great Bentley, close to its renowned village Green and its many local facilities.
The home enjoys a peaceful countryside setting within beautiful enclosed gardens and a summer house, adjacent to open farmland.
Great Bentley is within an easy commute of London and is served by a railway line lying midway between the popular commuter towns of Colchester (7 miles) and Clacton on Sea (5 miles). The home is ideally located to meet the needs of elderly people and their families from a number of local communities including the riverside towns of Brightlingsea and Wivenhoe. The Oaks also attracts people from further afield who enjoy a quiet rural location.

Accommodation
The Oaks has 29 bedrooms, all of which are equipped with en suite facilities. Our open plan interiors and three large enclosed gardens, give residents the space and freedom to move around comfortably and safely. Bedrooms are tastefully decorated and residents are welcome to bring their own cherished pieces and personalise their room to make it feel more comfortable and homely.

Activities in the home
Activites are an important part of daily life at the Oaks helping to maintain, stimulate and enhance the interests and abilities of our residents. A relaxed, happy and informal atomosphere exists within The Oaks and residents enjoy a range of activities, including cream teas in the summer house, quizzes, bingo, chairobics, and regular outings to name but a few. There really is something for everyone to enjoy.
